Launched in 2011, the Spider brings drop top thrills to the already exhilarating 458 Italia and it definitely delivers. Being Ferrari's first folding hard-top convertible car, and set the way for its successor, the 488 Spider.
Following the classic mid-engined & rear wheel drive layout, the 458 Italia entered Ferrari's range at a higher stage than its predecessor the F430, and in doing so Ferrari created a car which completely outgunned the V12 599 GTB flagship model of the time. Being famously known as the best looking Ferrari in recent memory, the 458 manages to vastly improve aerodynamics and F1 technology without making any sacrifices with aesthetics.
Boasting an impressive 562bhp, the 458 manages to be both thrilling behind the wheel and extremely accessible, handling flawlessly with astounding grip. Along with Ferrari's F1 dual-clutch transmission, the 458 line up proved extremely capable, and the Spider has all the capability but with the added enjoyment of sun, wind and sound to surround the senses.
